JSW Steel Breaks Ground on New ₹16,350-Crore Steel Plant in Andhra Pradesh
JSW Steel Ltd has initiated work on a new steel plant in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant ₹16,350-crore investment that aims to expand domestic steelmaking capacity while advancing the company's push into lower-carbon production. The project, built in two phases, will see the establishment of a 1 million tonne per annum (mtpa) integrated steel plant at a cost of ₹4,500 crore in the first phase.
The second phase, involving an investment of up to ₹11,850 crore, will double capacity to 2 mtpa, taking the total investment to ₹16,350 crore. This will make it India's largest steelmaker.
