Tata Agrata's Battery Project Acceleration: £1 Billion Loan Boost and Repayment Deadline Extension
Tata Group's Agratas Ltd Secures £1.15 Billion Loan from Consortium of Banks
New Delhi: In a significant development, Tata Group's UK-based battery firm, Agratas Ltd, has been approved for a loan of £1.15 billion (₹14,000 crore) by a consortium of banks. This amount represents a 53% increase from the earlier agreed £750 million (₹9,500 crore).
The additional funding will provide Agratas Ltd with the necessary resources to prepare for the supply of its first batteries to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). The loan also comes with a revised repayment deadline, which has been adjusted to accommodate the company's growing needs.
The £1.15 billion loan is a significant vote of confidence in Agratas Ltd's growth prospects and its ability to supply high-quality batteries to the automotive sector. With this funding, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the electric vehicle (EV) market.
