Viral Impersonator: Chinese Man Gains 54,000 Followers in Two Weeks as Nvidia CEO
A 28-year-old man from rural China has become an online sensation after gaining tens of thousands of followers in just over two weeks by impersonating Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang. Yang Yang, from Dandong in China's northeastern Liaoning province, has been posting videos on social media that closely imitate the technology executive's appearance and mannerisms.
Yang's account, named @huangyinxun, has been viewed by millions, with individual videos attracting as many as 15 million views. His livestream sessions have also drawn significant attention, with around 20,000 concurrent viewers at times. The videos feature Yang holding large models of graphics cards, referencing Nvidia's core hardware products, as well as eating noodles and drinking fruit juice from Chinese brand Mixue Ice Cream & Tea.
To achieve the look, Yang reportedly uses wheat flour to turn his hair grey and fixes it in place with hair gel. He also spent around 100 yuan (approximately Rs 1,416) on a leather jacket and 10 yuan on spectacles. Yang's impersonation is so convincing that he has attracted attention from Nvidia, with some people posing as the company's legal department to contact him and request that he take down his videos.

Yang's background is humble, having grown up in a rural village and worked as a migrant labourer from the age of 16. He has previously worked in roles including dishwashing and cooking in restaurants. Five years ago, he returned to his hometown to care for his elderly parents, where he began creating content as a local social media creator. His earlier account reportedly had around 300,000 followers, although his income from social media has been inconsistent.
Yang has said that he admires Huang not only for his position in the technology sector but also because of the executive's reportedly humble beginnings. However, the sudden surge in attention has placed him under significant pressure, with Yang expressing his fear of being contacted by Nvidia and his desire to delete his videos if they have affected the company's image.
| Account Performance | Value |
|---|---|
| Number of followers | 54,000 |
| Most viewed video views | 15 million |
| Concurrent viewers in livestream sessions | 20,000 |
Yang's account has become a sensation, with many viewers praising his dedication to his craft and his ability to convincingly impersonate Jensen Huang. However, the pressure of being in the public eye has taken a toll on Yang, who has expressed his desire to delete his videos and move on from the attention.
