Food Delivery Mix-Up Leaves Delhi Woman with Surplus Order and Refund
A bizarre incident involving a Delhi woman and food delivery platform Zomato has gone viral on social media. Shatakshee Kar, a creative manager with an edtech company, ordered two dishes from Zomato on a Saturday, but was surprised to find that she was delivered food equivalent to five people, along with a Rs 600 refund for one of the dishes.
The incident occurred when Kar ordered a raw mango salad and mock meat skewers from Burma Burma, but the delivery bag was larger and heavier than expected. Upon checking the order number, she discovered that it was the same as her own, but the customer details were not. The bag contained enough food for easily five people, and Kar was left wondering how this mix-up happened.
Kar contacted Zomato support, and customer care representatives got in touch with the restaurant to resolve the matter. According to Kar, the Zomato representative informed her that the restaurant was in shock and had no idea how the mix-up occurred. The representative offered Kar a refund for the other dish, citing that the raw mango salad was already delivered to her.
