UAE Intercepts Iranian Missiles and Drones Amid Failing Ceasefire in the Middle East
UAE Air Defences Engage Missiles and Drones from Iran for Second Day
The United Arab Emirates has announced that its air defences are actively engaging with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) threats coming from Iran for the second consecutive day. This development comes amidst a fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran, which has been in place for weeks.
According to a statement released by the UAE Ministry of Defence on the social media platform X, the country's air defence systems are actively engaging with missiles and UAV threats that have originated from Iran. This is the second day in a row that the UAE has reported such activity, with a drone strike having caused a fire at an energy installation in the emirate of Fujairah on Monday.
The Fujairah Civil Defence teams responded promptly to the incident and are continuing their efforts to control the fire. The emirate of Fujairah is home to a major port, pipeline, and other petroleum-based installations that bypass the Strait of Hormuz, which has been throttled in recent times.
