T-Mobile Unveils Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad
On June 4, US telecom major T-Mobile (TMUS) inaugurated its new Global Technology Centre (GTC) in Hyderabad, marking its first such facility in India. The centre was inaugurated by Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
The new facility, operated by TMUS Global Solutions, spans an impressive 2.5 lakh square feet and will be expanding its workforce to nearly 1,000 employees by 2027. The Hyderabad centre will serve as a strategic technology hub for the company, building capabilities across software engineering, DevOps, product development, data analytics, cybersecurity, and next-generation digital solutions.
T-Mobile is one of the largest wireless network operators in the United States, serving more than 140 million customers. The centre will support the development of software platforms, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, and enterprise digital transformation initiatives, while contributing to technology operations and customer experience functions globally.

The addition of TMUS Global Solutions further strengthens Hyderabad's standing as a hub for telecom technology, digital engineering, and enterprise innovation, the state government said. Hyderabad currently hosts more than 450 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) employing over 300,000 professionals across sectors.
| Sector | Number of GCCs | Number of Employees |
|---|---|---|
| Telecom Technology | 15 | 20,000 |
| Digital Engineering | 120 | 80,000 |
| Enterprise Innovation | 20 | 10,000 |
| Total | 155 | 110,000 |
The investment comes as Telangana continues to attract global capability centres from multinational corporations. The state government has promised access to the best technology talent in the country, and T-Mobile's decision to establish its Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad is a testament to the city's ability to deliver world-class talent at scale.
Investor Takeaway
T-Mobile's expansion in Hyderabad may lead to increased investment in the Indian technology sector.
