Karnataka Government Approves Initiatives Worth Rs 27.19 Crore to Strengthen Startup Ecosystem
The Karnataka government has approved four innovation, biotechnology, and industry-academia initiatives worth Rs 27.19 crore to strengthen the state's startup ecosystem, research capabilities, and deep-tech innovation landscape. The projects will be implemented through the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology (ITBT), Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS), Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), academic institutions, and ecosystem partners.
The initiatives aim to accelerate startup growth, strengthen industry-academia collaboration, expand biotechnology infrastructure, and support indigenous technology development. The government has allocated funds for several projects, including the establishment of a startup accelerator in Mangaluru, industry-academia partnerships, the development of an advanced surgical assistive robot, and the expansion of genome editing infrastructure.
