Arrest and Investigation On Thursday, Krishna Dornal, 29, was arrested in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, following a reported threat against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma via WhatsApp. The Assam police tipped off their Arunachal Pradesh counterparts after detecting the threat, prompting swift action across state lines.
Background Dornal, a resident of Dolahtphulbari village, was employed at a wine shop where he allegedly siphoned money. When the shop owner demanded a full account of the finances, Dornal attempted to cover his tracks by sending a threatening message to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma via WhatsApp.
Investigation and Charges During police interrogation, Dornal admitted to the theft and the attempted cover-up. He has since been handed over to the Assam police for further investigation.
