Viral Video Shows Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath's Hilarious Encounter with Gen Z Slang
A light-hearted video featuring Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath has taken the internet by storm after it was shared on social media. The video, which showcases Kamath's amusing reactions to Gen Z slang, was initially shared by Gowri Bhat Gandotra, an employee of Rainmatter by Zerodha.
The video starts with a casual conversation between Kamath and Gowri, which quickly turns into a test of how well the boss and employee understand each other's language. The interaction begins with a simple question about age, where Gowri asks if Kamath is a millennial, to which he replies, "I'm 46." She then jokingly calls him a "boomer boss" before correcting it to "Gen X."
The conversation takes a fun turn into internet slang, with Gowri asking Kamath to define various Gen Z expressions. She starts by asking, "What is the meaning of rizz? Like this person's got a lot of rizz." Kamath responds, "I don't know. What is it?" Gowri then explains that it means "Charisma."

Next, Gowri asks about the term "simp," which often confuses many outside online culture. Kamath replies, "I think it's a slang word for simple." However, Gowri immediately corrects him, saying, "You should keep with the times….it's when like when a guy simps over a girl." The term "simp" is explained as someone who shows excessive attention, admiration, or devotion towards another person, often in hopes of gaining affection in return.
Gowri further introduces a gesture along with the phrase "clock it," and both try to act it out. The gesture is used online to signal noticing something important or agreeing with a sharp observation. Kamath, however, still appears unsure about its exact meaning.
The final round brings a win for Kamath, as he correctly defines the term "slay." It is used to describe doing something very well or looking impressive while doing it. Gowri acknowledges his effort, saying, "You got 1 out of 4 so not bad."
Once the video was shared online, it spread quickly across social media, with users reacting to Kamath's honest and amused responses. Many users praised the video, saying it was "so cool" and "so much fun." One user even commented, "I didn't know Nithin Kamath is this much fun."
