Vijay Set to Become Tamil Nadu's Next Chief Minister
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay is all set to be sworn in as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in the state's politics. Vijay's unprecedented performance has broken the three-decade-old 'duopoly' of Dravidian parties in the state, a feat that has been eagerly anticipated by many.
Vijay's family, including his father, SA Chandrasekhar, and mother, Sobha, are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The event is scheduled to take place at 10 AM, with heightened security measures in place.
TVK secured 118 seats in the Assembly, the minimum required for a majority, with support from the Congress (5 seats), Communist Party of India (2 seats), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (2 seats), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (2 seats), and the Indian Union Muslim League (2 seats). This coalition support led to the Governor of Tamil Nadu inviting Vijay to form the government.
