Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is set to make his first official visit to the national capital today, May 27, where he is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This visit marks a significant milestone in Vijay's tenure as the chief minister, having led his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to a historic win in the Tamil Nadu polls.

The TVK emerged as the largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, securing 108 seats. The party subsequently garnered support from the Congress, Left parties, VCK, and IUML to stake claim to power and form the government. Following the electoral victory, TVK founder Vijay was sworn in as chief minister on May 10, with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administering the oath at a grand ceremony in Chennai.

Vijay's trip to Delhi had been planned shortly after his swearing-in, but was postponed several times as Prime Minister Modi remained occupied with foreign tours and official commitments. During his visit to Delhi, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is also expected to hold meetings with senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He is likely to call on Vice President CP Radhakrishnan as a courtesy.

On Thursday, Vijay is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and several other senior members of the Union Cabinet, according to an ANI report. Tamil Nadu Minister Aadhav Arjuna, along with other senior ministers, will also accompany Vijay to Delhi, where they will first visit the Tamil Nadu House in the national capital.
