SpiceJet to Operate Emergency Relief Flights from Fujairah, Resumes Normal Services from Delhi and Mumbai on March 4
SpiceJet Announces Special Flights to Repatriate Indian Nationals
SpiceJet, a leading Indian airline, has announced the operation of four special flights from Fujairah in the UAE to repatriate Indian nationals stranded due to widespread airspace closures in the Middle East. The flights will connect Fujairah with Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi on March 3 and in the coming days, with two flights operating to Mumbai.
The airline's scheduled Fujairah-Delhi and Fujairah-Mumbai services will resume on March 4, restoring regular connectivity between the UAE and India. SpiceJet is also evaluating the possibility of adding more special flights subject to passenger demand and regulatory clearances.
Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of SpiceJet, stated that assisting affected travellers is the airline's immediate priority. The airline has already cancelled 87 flights, including 37 departures and 50 arrivals at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, due to airspace restrictions.

Other carriers, including Emirates, Akasa Air, and Oman Air, have also scaled back operations in response to the regional conflict, which has disrupted travel and left thousands of passengers stranded. The partial reopening of Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport offers some relief, but airlines continue to face operational strain.
Investor Takeaway
SpiceJet's emergency relief flights may have a minimal impact on its operations and financials in the short term.
