Legendary Singer Asha Bhosle Passes Away at 92
Mumbai, April 12, 2026 - India has lost a voice that shaped generations with the passing of legendary singer Asha Bhosle. Born in 1933, Bhosle's music career spanned over eight decades, during which she recorded more than 12,500 songs in multiple languages.
According to reports from The Hindu, Asha Bhosle died at Breach Candy Hospital due to multi-organ failure on Sunday. She had been admitted on Saturday evening after suffering from a chest infection and exhaustion. Doctors confirmed that she also suffered a cardiac arrest along with pulmonary complications during treatment.
Her son, Anand Bhosle, shared the news and details of her final rites with the media. He informed that people can pay their last respects to her at 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande, Lower Parel, where she lived. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm tomorrow at Shivaji Park.
