On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, a Pawan Hans helicopter made an emergency landing in the sea near Mayabunder in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, shortly after take-off from Port Blair.
The helicopter, which was carrying 2 crew members and 5 passengers, experienced a short landing incident at approximately 9:30 am. All individuals on board were rescued safely by local rescue and response teams, with no reported injuries.
The incident occurred approximately 30 minutes after departure from Port Blair. Authorities confirmed that emergency mechanisms were put in place immediately, and all occupants were brought to safety.
