Parakeet Goes Viral After Diving Underwater in Custom-Made Submarine
A six-year-old parakeet named Bebe has captured the hearts of millions after a video of it snorkelling underwater in the Bahamas went viral online. The bird's owner, Steven Lawyer, designed a custom-made device, dubbed the "Bebosphere" mini submarine, to enable Bebe to explore the underwater world safely.
According to The Sun, the Bebosphere mini submarine is a compact DIY submersible fitted with a paintball air cylinder, oxygen meter, and lead weights, allowing Bebe to move three feet underwater with ease. The video, shared on Instagram, captures Bebe calmly seated inside the clear tube of the submarine as it glides through the water.
The underwater adventure was not a one-off stunt, but rather a continuation of Bebe's love for exploring new experiences with its owners. Lawyer explained that Bebe enjoys snorkelling and participating in various activities with them, including bike riding and skydiving, all done with careful planning and safety precautions.

Bebe is an extremely adventurous bird—he regularly goes bike riding and even skydiving with his owners..." | "Its 100% gotta be AI, the only reason it would be venting like that is if it was removing air..." | | "This is so cute. Everyone acts like he went 20,000 feet under water. He was only under for fifteen minutes. He is a cutie." | "A short clip without context does not give the full picture. So chill!!" |
Despite the concerns, the video has brought joy to millions of people around the world, showcasing the unique bond between Bebe and its owners.
