Parallel Web Systems Valuation Reaches $2 Billion Following $100 Million Funding Round
Parallel Web Systems, the AI startup founded by Parag Agrawal, former CEO of Twitter, has reached a valuation of $2 billion after completing a $100 million Series B funding round, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.
Established in August 2025, Parallel Web Systems is focused on developing self-learning AI bots that can explore the web independently. The company offers customized infrastructure to help these AI bots conduct extensive research and collect information for firms.
In its Series B financing, Parallel Web Systems was backed by Sequoia Capital, with Khosla Ventures, Index Ventures, and Kleiner Perkins participating. This investment round follows the $100 million Series A financing secured by the startup in November 2025, which valued it at $740 million.
With a current headcount of around 50 people, Parallel Web Systems plans to use the fresh capital to expand its research and development efforts, as well as build out its sales and marketing teams. The startup continues to focus on enterprise clients.
Parallel's AI agents are designed to handle tasks such as investment research, risk underwriting, insurance claims processing, and deep analysis of government contracts—tasks that traditionally require human intervention but are now executed faster and more accurately.
| Funding Round | Amount | Valuation |
|---|---|---|
| Series A | $100 million | $740 million |
| Series B | $100 million | $2 billion |
Andrew Reed, a Sequoia Capital partner and Parallel board member, attributes the surge in interest to demand for "long-horizon" AI agents, capable of retaining context, performing tasks over extended periods, and responding quickly to user queries.
