Mars, Inc. Explores Global Aerospace Investments Amid Industry Focus on Supply Chain Resilience
Mahindra & Mahindra Evaluates Acquisitions in Global Aerospace Supply-Chain
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), a leading Indian conglomerate, is exploring potential acquisitions in the global aerospace supply-chain following a surge in demand from major aircraft manufacturers. According to group chief executive officer and managing director Anish Shah, global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have approached Mahindra to address production bottlenecks that are hindering aircraft deliveries.
Shah stated that OEMs have expressed interest in Mahindra's ability to deliver high-quality products, with some even offering support for acquisition-led consolidation. "They're telling us, 'Can you come in and acquire, we'll help you acquire?'" Shah said, adding that Mahindra has set a high threshold for returns before pursuing such deals. "If we do acquire, you need to guarantee our returns for five years. They said, 'We will do that but we want you to come in.'"
Mahindra's aerospace business has emerged as one of the group's fastest-growing verticals, with nearly $1 billion worth of orders secured in just over a year. In comparison, the company accumulated roughly $150 million in orders over the previous 12-15 years. Shah expressed the company's aspiration to become one of the top 5 aerostructures companies in the world, which is feasible within the next three to five years.

The partnership deepened further in August 2025 when Airbus selected Mahindra Aerostructures as an additional source for manufacturing the main fuselage of its best-selling H125 helicopter.
