Tragic Shooting in Virginia Supermarket Leaves Woman Dead

A 45-year-old Indian-origin woman, Meghnaben Patel, was shot dead during a suspected robbery attempt at a supermarket in Virginia. According to a report by NDTV, Meghnaben had been working at the supermarket for the last 10 years.

Meghnaben hailed from Jantral village in Bijapur area of Mehsana district in Gujarat. On the day of the incident, an unidentified man allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on her inside a shop, causing serious injuries. She later died from the gunshot wounds.

CCTV footage from the incident shows a man, wearing animal print tracks and a grey jacket with his face covered, walking into a near-empty store and approaching the counter. The man can be seen engaging in a conversation with Meghnaben across the counter.

A few moments later, the unidentified man puts his hands in his pocket, pulls out a gun, and shoots at her. He continued to fire at her even after she collapsed on the floor. The man was later seen taking something from the table before leaving the spot.

The officials suspect the firing may have been carried out with the intention of robbery. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
