Indian Army Conducts Mega Wargame Exercise 'Agni Varsha'
The Indian Army's Southern Command conducted a large-scale wargame exercise, Agni Varsha, in the Pokhran deserts of Rajasthan on Tuesday. The exercise showcased the Army's operational preparedness to address security challenges and demonstrated its ability to employ combined arms, precision long-range fires, and network-enabled command and control in a realistic operational environment.
The exercise, which featured a range of cutting-edge technologies, included unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), counter-drone systems, precision strike rockets, modern artillery platforms, and networked surveillance assets. The Integrated Manoeuvre Force consisted of T-90 Main Battle Tanks, infantry combat vehicles, K-9 Vajra self-propelled howitzers, Sharang and Bofors artillery systems, rocket platforms, indigenous weapon systems, Apache attack helicopters, and various surveillance and strike drones.
The exercise was witnessed by foreign defence journalists from 25 countries, highlighting the Army's commitment to transparency and international cooperation. The exercise underscored the Indian Army's continued emphasis on technology infusion, indigenisation, and capability development, while reaffirming its readiness to conduct swift, coordinated, and decisive operations in accordance with national security priorities.
