
IIM Bangalore Alumnus Implicated in Multi-Woman Online Matrimonial Scam
Matrimonial Scam Exposed: IIM Bengaluru Graduate Arrested for Cheating Women
A shocking case of cheating through a matrimonial website has come to light in Greater Noida, with a 39-year-old individual accused of duping over 16 women of nearly Rs 8 lakh and several iPhones.
Rahul Chaturvedi, a resident of Radha Sky Garden Society in Greater Noida's Bisrakh area, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly creating a fake profile on a matrimonial website and posing as an HR manager working for a multinational company. According to investigators, Chaturvedi completed his BCom from a private university in Madhya Pradesh before pursuing higher studies at the prestigious IIM Bengaluru.
The case began to unravel after a 40-year-old woman from Greater Noida lodged a complaint at Bisrakh police station on September 7. The complainant alleged that she met Chaturvedi through a matrimonial website and was cheated of approximately Rs 2.4 lakh through multiple transactions, with Chaturvedi claiming he needed the money for his ailing father's medical treatment. He even purchased shoes worth Rs 16,000 using her money.

During the investigation, police found that Chaturvedi had allegedly created a fake profile on the matrimonial platform and purchased a premium membership. He posed as an HR manager at a multinational company and even modulated his voice during phone calls to impersonate his father, to avoid suspicion. The officer also alleged that Chaturvedi had fabricated salary slips to build trust.

The DCP, Shakti Mohan Avasthy, noted that Chaturvedi had a history of working at reputable companies, including a telecommunications company in Gurgaon and a multinational company in Bengaluru. However, his alleged actions as a matrimonial scammer have left many shaken.
Social media reactions to the incident have been varied, with some users expressing frustration and disappointment at the actions of Chaturvedi. Others have joked about the bleak future of relationships in light of the scam.
