Bengaluru Security Heightened After Discovery of Explosives Near PM Modi's Event Venue

On Sunday, two gelatin sticks were recovered from a roadside near the event venue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the outskirts of Bengaluru, prompting heightened security measures and a police investigation into the source of the explosives.

According to police, the gelatin sticks were found during routine security checks near Tataguni in the Kaggalipura police station limits, close to a route linked to the Prime Minister's movement schedule. Prime Minister Modi was in Bengaluru to attend the 45th foundation day celebrations at the Art of Living Foundation centre on Kanakapura Road near Kaggalipura.

The discovery was made this morning, before Prime Minister Modi's arrival, during the routine checking of the area. The gelatin sticks were found on the side of the footpath, nearly 3 kilometers away from the main venue where PM Modi was scheduled to arrive. Further investigation is underway, according to a statement by the DIG Central Range, Bengaluru.
