Bengaluru Security Heightened After Discovery of Explosives Near PM Modi's Event Venue
On Sunday, two gelatin sticks were recovered from a roadside near the event venue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the outskirts of Bengaluru, prompting heightened security measures and a police investigation into the source of the explosives.
According to police, the gelatin sticks were found during routine security checks near Tataguni in the Kaggalipura police station limits, close to a route linked to the Prime Minister's movement schedule. Prime Minister Modi was in Bengaluru to attend the 45th foundation day celebrations at the Art of Living Foundation centre on Kanakapura Road near Kaggalipura.
The discovery was made this morning, before Prime Minister Modi's arrival, during the routine checking of the area. The gelatin sticks were found on the side of the footpath, nearly 3 kilometers away from the main venue where PM Modi was scheduled to arrive. Further investigation is underway, according to a statement by the DIG Central Range, Bengaluru.

The recovery immediately put security agencies on alert, with police teams, bomb disposal squads, and forensic experts rushing to the location to examine the explosive materials. Police sources said one person had been detained for questioning in connection with the recovery.

The explosives were reportedly recovered near the Agara Lake area in Tataguni on the city outskirts. Authorities have not yet indicated whether the materials were linked in any way to the Prime Minister's visit. Investigators are trying to determine why the gelatin sticks were stored in the area and whether more people were involved, according to sources.
