In India's highly competitive exam system, securing a top rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is often seen as a final destination rather than a starting point. Typically, it sets off a well-defined path, leading to an IIT degree followed by a corporate career. However, what happens when someone who reaches that peak decides to deviate from this familiar pattern?

Kalpit Veerwal, who secured All India Rank 1 in 2017 with a perfect score of 360/360, has chosen a route that defies conventional career tracks. His journey reflects a wider shift among young professionals who are exploring options beyond traditional career paths.

Veerwal's remarkable achievement brought him national attention and earned him a place in the Limca Book of Records. The result, announced on April 2, 2017, marked a significant milestone in his life. He went from being an ordinary high school student to a national news sensation overnight.

For many students, such recognition would naturally lead to a traditional path through IIT and into the corporate sector. However, Veerwal chose to explore other opportunities. Despite pursuing his higher education at IIT, he opted not to follow the usual corporate route.

Instead, Veerwal treated his achievement as a platform to try different things. He has been an educator, built businesses, influenced students, spoken across the country, invested, traveled, and even started releasing his own music as a singer-songwriter. His diverse pursuits have allowed him to focus on his passions, including investing and music, which he plans to pursue further this year.

Veerwal's unconventional choices have sparked a range of reactions on social media. Many users expressed admiration for his decisions and recalled his remarkable achievement. Some users referred to the impact his 2017 result had at the time, while others reflected on how perceptions can evolve over time.

However, not all reactions were in complete agreement with his choices. A few users suggested that he should use his academic background in more conventional ways, such as starting a tech firm. Veerwal responded that he prefers to pursue opportunities in media and finance, rather than creating another tech firm.
