Sandhu attended the launch event of the 'Freedom250' celebrations, which marked 250 years of American independence, in the national capital on Wednesday. The engagement provided an opportunity to deepen collaboration between the two countries, he said.

Sandhu also had a productive conversation with US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor at the launch event, discussing the enhancement of American investments in Delhi and the expansion of India-US technology collaboration. He expressed his enthusiasm for deeper cooperation that would bring tangible benefits to the residents of the National Capital.

Taranjit Sandhu's Background and Appointment

Taranjit Sandhu is the grandson of the eminent Sikh leader, Teja Singh Samundri. On March 11, Sandhu took the oath of office in the presence of Delhi High Court Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was also present at the swearing-in ceremony. Sandhu is part of a major administrative reshuffle of Governors and Lieutenant Governors across the country.

Note: Taranjit Singh Sandhu replaced VK Saxena as Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, while VK Saxena was appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
