EPFO Introduces Convenient Methods for Checking PF Balance

Method 1: Missed Call

Employees can check their PF balance by giving a missed call from their registered mobile number to 9966-044425. This will send an SMS with the PF balance details.

Method 2: SMS

Alternatively, employees can send an SMS with the following format: EPFO <UAN number> LAN to 7738299899. This will also send an SMS with the PF balance details.

Method 3: Mobile App

For a detailed summary of the passbook and balance, employees can download the Umag app on their smartphone. They can search for EPFO, click on View Passbook, and select OTP. After receiving the OTP via SMS, they can enter it and click Submit. Then, they can select the member passbook to check the details and download the passbook.

Method 4: EPFO Website

Employees can also check their PF balance online by visiting the EPFO website (epfo.gov.in). They can scroll down to the section that shows EPFO services and click on 'EPFO and You'. Then, they can click on ‘For Employees’, log in using their UAN number, password, and captcha code, and view the passbook summary and member ID-wise balance. They can also download their passbook from there.

Investor Takeaway

Investors should be aware of the convenient methods available to check their EPF account balances.
