Assam Elections: BJP Seeks Largest Ever Mandate
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is confident of returning to power in Assam under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, expressed this confidence during a youth convention of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Sunday.
Amit Shah urged the people to give another mandate to the BJP, assuring them that every infiltrator will be sent out of India. The BJP government has made it clear that it will identify and remove all infiltrators from the electoral rolls, a task that the Congress party has been accused of normalizing during its rule.
The Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in some states has been protested by the Congress party, Amit Shah claimed. The BJP has stated that it will focus on driving out infiltrators and ensuring the interests of the children of poor people are taken care of, in contrast to the Congress party's alleged focus on corruption and promoting infiltrators.
