Bihar NDA Government to Seek Vote of Confidence on April 24
The newly sworn-in Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary-led NDA government in Bihar will seek a vote of confidence in the Assembly on April 24, according to an official notification issued on Saturday. This development comes ahead of the monsoon session of the Assembly scheduled for July, as per sources.
The one-day session will mark a significant milestone in the tenure of Chief Minister Choudhary, who was sworn in as the 24th chief minister of the eastern state on April 15. This historic instance marks the first time a member of the BJP has assumed the top post in the state.
Prior to Choudhary's appointment, Nitish Kumar resigned from the post to take up central responsibilities. Kumar's departure from the chief minister's position was preceded by his oath-taking as a member of the Rajya Sabha on April 10. This marked the end of his two-decade rule in the eastern state and paved the way for a new chief minister.
