Bengaluru Residents Flock to Tabebuia Blooms: Interactive Tracker Simplifies Tree-Spotting Experience
Bengaluru Bloom Tracker Surpasses Expectations
Bengaluru Bloom (Blrbloom.com), an interactive Tabebuia blooming tracker, has become a crowd favourite in Bengaluru, helping residents locate and track blooming trees in real-time. The platform, launched to coincide with the city's annual pink makeover, has mapped 20,939 trees using BBMP census data and received 147 bloom reports from the community.
The website allows users to explore Tabebuia trees on an interactive map, spot blooms near their homes or workplaces, upload photos, and mark bloom stages. With each bloom lasting only three to five days, the tracker has turned the fleeting phenomenon into a citywide scavenger hunt, particularly during the peak window of late February to March.

Data from Bengaluru Bloom reveals that some neighbourhoods are emerging as clear pink hotspots this year. Lalbagh leads the chart, with multiple clusters near the West Gate and Glass House Road reporting peak and full-glory blooms. The Indian Institute of Science campus in Malleshwaram has also stood out, with long avenues lined by up to 15 blooming trees. Other areas, including Central Library side of Cubbon Park, Jayanagar 4th Block, AECS Layout, Sadashivanagar, and Indiranagar's 100 Feet Road, are also seeing enthusiastic footfall.
The Tabebuia blooming phenomenon is closely tied to Bengaluru's climate, with the dry spell towards the end of winter stressing the trees, triggering flowering just before the arrival of summer showers.
