A recent incident at the Asvara Resort Ubud in Bali, Indonesia, has sparked widespread attention after a video surfaced online showing hotel staff confronting a group of Indian tourists over items found in their luggage during checkout. The episode took place on April 19, 2026, at the luxury resort located in Kelusa Village in the Payangan district.
According to reports by The Bali Times, the tourists, identified as Indian nationals, had checked into the property on April 16 and were staying in two rooms for a three-day visit. During the checkout process, hotel staff conducted a routine inspection and noticed that several items from the rooms were missing. As a result, the guests were stopped before leaving the premises.
The search of the guests' luggage reportedly yielded multiple items, including bath towels, pool towels, kimono robes, a hair dryer, a doormat, a television remote box, and dining utensils. A video of the incident, shared on social media, shows hotel staff unpacking luggage while various items are placed aside. The footage also captures a voice alleging that the tourists were from India and had taken items from the hotel.

The incident was reported to management, which intervened to clarify the situation. Confirming the sequence of events, Gianyar Police spokesperson Iptu I Gusti Ngurah Suardita said that the findings were reported to management, which then halted the check-out process for clarification. Authorities stated that the matter did not proceed to legal action, with the issue being settled amicably and all items returned.
Despite the resolution, the video has triggered strong reactions online, with many users expressing concern over the behavior shown in the clip. Some users have called for stricter consequences for the tourists, while others have expressed embarrassment over the incident.
