Avendus Capital's Healthcare Head in Talks to Join BofA Securities India
Anshul Gupta, the Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at Avendus Capital, has stepped down and is in discussions with BofA Securities India to join the rival investment bank in a senior role. According to multiple industry sources, Gupta has resigned and an offer has been made by BofA Securities for a leadership position in India.
Gupta's resignation has been confirmed by two other persons, who added that no final decision has been taken by Gupta after his resignation. The ongoing discussions may or may not result in a move to BofA Securities. It is worth noting that Gupta has more than 20 years of investment banking experience across the US and India, with a focus on M&A, capital markets, and private placements in the healthcare, pharma, and medtech sectors.
Gupta had a three-year tenure at Avendus Capital and previously worked at Citi Investment Banking in India for 12 years. His LinkedIn profile also mentions stints at Greenhill & Co in New York, Deloitte Consulting in Chicago, and i2 Technologies. Gupta is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
