Adani Group Aims to Revive Formula 1 at Buddh International Circuit

The Adani Group is developing strategies to revive the Formula 1 motor sport at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. Karan Adani, Director of Adani Cement and Managing Director of Adani Ports & SEZ, expressed excitement about bringing Formula 1 back to India.
Adani believes India has significant potential and a strong following for the sport. The Adani Group is in the process of acquiring Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL), the flagship company of the Jaypee Group, after winning the majority lenders' vote in November 2025 with a ₹14,535-crore acquisition proposal.
Adani has been a fan of the sport since 2000 and is confident that India can set a benchmark for global events like Formula 1. He believes that restarting the sport will not only showcase India's infrastructure but also its hospitality and heritage.
The F1 race was previously held at the Buddh Circuit in 2011, 2012, and 2013 before being halted due to a tax dispute with the Uttar Pradesh government. Adani plans to revive the sport, providing an opportunity for India to showcase its capabilities to a global audience.
