Wingify to Focus on Acquisitions and AI Investments for Fiscal Growth Following Investment-Heavy FY26
Artificial Intelligence Disrupts Internet Businesses, Forces Rethinking of SEO Strategies
Artificial intelligence (AI)-driven search and discovery tools are transforming the online landscape, compelling companies to reassess their long-standing SEO and traffic strategies. Businesses across sectors such as SaaS, e-commerce, travel, and media are witnessing shifts in user behavior as consumers increasingly rely on AI assistants for research and recommendations.
According to Sparsh Gupta, co-founder of Wingify, the growing use of AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude is impacting traffic for businesses across the board. Wingify operates VWO, a digital experience optimization and experimentation platform used by businesses to improve website conversions, personalize user journeys, and analyze customer behavior.
The shift in user behavior is pushing brands to focus on retaining high-intent users, rather than attracting casual "window shoppers" online. AI tools can rapidly generate multiple versions of headlines, creatives, and content, but experimentation platforms remain necessary to identify what performs best.

Wingify Reports 34 Percent Increase in Operating Revenue
Wingify, the company behind VWO, reported a 34 percent increase in operating revenue at Rs 386 crore in FY25 from Rs 288 crore in FY24. However, profit fell more than 60 percent to Rs 24 crore from Rs 61 crore a year earlier, as the company increased spending on acquisitions, expansion, and employee costs.
| FY24 | FY25 |
|---|---|
| Operating Revenue (Rs crore) | 288 |
| Profit (Rs crore) | 61 |
Gupta attributes the change in numbers to a mix of factors, including accounting and structural changes linked to the Everstone transaction and shareholder exits. While FY26 numbers are not available yet, Gupta said the year was investment-heavy, with the company expanding enterprise sales, integrating acquisitions, and increasing AI adoption.

Expansion and Acquisitions
Wingify has been aggressive in its expansion over the past year, acquiring Blitzllama and integrating its technology into VWO Pulse. The company also completed the acquisition of France-based AB Tasty, significantly expanding its presence in Europe and enterprise e-commerce markets. The AB Tasty acquisition adds capabilities around recommendation engines, merchandising, adaptive personalization, and customer emotion analysis for e-commerce brands.
Gupta said the AB Tasty acquisition has enabled Wingify to expand its presence to multiple locations across the globe, including Canada, the US, Latin America, Brazil, Colombia, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, the Nordics, Israel, the Middle East, India, Singapore, Japan, and Australia.
Wingify and AB Tasty together have crossed $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), according to Gupta. The company's expansion is also driven by its partnership with private equity firm Everstone Capital, which acquired a majority stake in Wingify in 2024 in a deal reportedly valued at around $200 million.
Investor Takeaway
Investors should consider the potential impact of AI-driven search and discovery tools on internet businesses and their strategies.
