Toxic Workplace Culture Exposed at TCS Nashik Unit
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has released its findings in the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nashik case, highlighting a deeply disturbing and toxic work environment marked by pervasive sexual harassment and abuse of authority.
The NCW committee, chaired by Vijaya Rahatkar, was established to investigate the allegations and submitted its report to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on May 8, 2026. The 50-page report contains over 25 recommendations and observations based on the committee's findings.

The NCW committee visited Nashik on April 18 and 19, 2026, where they interacted with victims, POSH Internal Committee (IC) members of TCS, police officers, and other key witnesses. The report cited a "deeply disturbing and toxic workplace environment" marked by pervasive sexual harassment and abuse of authority at the workplace.

The report noted that the accused persons had assumed effective control of the TCS, Nashik unit and targeted young and vulnerable girls, harassing them sexually, emotionally, and mentally. The committee also found that the Internal Committee (IC) was a common committee for Pune and Nasik, with no member visiting or inspecting the Nashik unit for POSH Act compliance.

The NCW committee found that the POSH Committee failed to take action against the accused persons. Not a single IC member had ever visited or inspected the Nashik unit for POSH Act compliance. In fact, there were no placards or boards found at the office informing employees about POSH regulations.
Toxic Leadership
The NCW committee found that the office was practically controlled by the accused Danish, Tausif, and Raza Memon. They were protected by Ashwini Chainani, the report said. Moneycontrol had earlier reported that Chainani was also on the POSH Committee for the Nashik and Pune offices, yet failed to take action.
