SWISS Launches Nonstop Flights from Bengaluru to Zurich
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has announced the launch of nonstop flights between Bengaluru and Zurich, marking the airline's entry into the southern Indian market as it expands its India footprint. The new service will commence in October 2026 and operate five times a week, offering passengers direct connectivity between Bengaluru and Zurich, along with onward access to destinations across Europe and North America through the Lufthansa Group network.
Bengaluru will become SWISS' latest destination in India and the third Lufthansa Group gateway from the city after Frankfurt and Munich. The airline stated that the route is aimed at meeting growing demand from business travellers, the technology sector, premium leisure passengers, and the Indian diaspora in Europe. This expansion is part of the Lufthansa Group's strategy to strengthen its presence in India, with over 70 weekly flights to and from India during the Winter 2026 schedule through its portfolio of airlines.
According to the airline, the new service will enhance connectivity from southern India while offering passengers access to SWISS' premium travel experience, including First Class services and seamless connections through Zurich. The introduction of the direct BLR-ZRH service is a strong validation of Bengaluru's growing importance as an international aviation market. Girish Nair, chief operating officer of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), emphasized the market maturity and long-term potential that Bengaluru continues to demonstrate.
Tickets for the Bengaluru-Zurich route are now open for booking through SWISS' official website and travel partners. The Lufthansa Group is delighted to welcome Swiss International Air Lines to Bengaluru, one of the world's leading technology and innovation hubs. The expansion is expected to support both corporate and leisure travel demand while improving one-stop international connectivity for passengers from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities through Bengaluru airport's domestic network.
