Indian Stock Market to Observe Maharashtra Day Holiday
The Indian stock market will remain closed on May 1, 2026, in observance of Maharashtra Day. On this day, both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will suspend trading activities across all key segments, including equity, derivatives, currency derivatives, securities lending and borrowing (SLB), and electronic gold receipts (EGR).
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will not function during the morning session, while evening trading hours, if any, will depend on official announcements.
