Sonos Overhauls Marketing Team Amid Reorganization Efforts
Sonos Inc. has made significant changes to its marketing team, with new Chief Marketing Officer Colleen DeCourcy eliminating jobs within the division. DeCourcy, who joined the audio brand in January, cited the need for a more streamlined structure to move at the speed required by the brand. In a memo shared with Bloomberg News, DeCourcy stated that the redesign aims to fix the underlying structure, not adjust headcount, to build something better with clearer jobs and shorter distances between decisions and their outcomes.
The exact number of employees affected by the cuts has not been disclosed. DeCourcy's appointment was made by Sonos Chief Executive Officer Tom Conrad to help focus the company's advertising and marketing efforts around its signature whole-home audio system. Prior to DeCourcy's hiring, longtime Sonos executive Lindsay Whitworth had been leading the marketing team on an interim basis after the departure of former CMO Jordan Saxemard in early 2025.
The marketing overhaul comes as Sonos continues to recover from a disastrous software overhaul that nearly upended its business in 2025. The stock price has declined 21% so far this year. However, the company has rebounded from the worst of the controversy. This week, Sonos released its first new consumer hardware products in more than a year, led by the $299 Sonos Play portable speaker.
