RRP Defence Secures Rs 29.84 Crore Order from Bharat Electronics Limited

RRP Defence, a leading original equipment manufacturer in the electro-optical systems and precision optical engineering space, has announced that it has secured a significant purchase order from state-run Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). The order, valued at nearly Rs 29.84 crore, is for the supply of high-precision germanium lenses used in infrared and thermal imaging systems.

The purchase order covers the design, engineering, and customisation of germanium lenses based on BEL's technical and operational requirements. These lenses are critical components in thermal imaging applications, including surveillance systems, weapon sights, target acquisition, and infrared detection systems. With this order, RRP Defence will be supplying germanium lenses that will play a vital role in the development of advanced thermal imaging systems.

RRP Defence's order fulfillment process will involve the supply of initial sample quantities, followed by bulk deliveries. The first batch of lenses is expected to be delivered within 8-10 weeks from receipt of the order, with phased monthly deliveries extending till December 2026. The total consideration for the purchase order, including applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST), will be Rs 29,83,81,230.
