Rajasthan Maintains Power Tariffs Unchanged for Fiscal Year 2026-27
Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission Announces No Tariff Hike for 2026-27
The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission has made a significant decision to maintain electricity tariffs at the current rate for the financial year 2026-27, providing a much-needed relief to over 1.75 crore consumers in the state.
The commission reached this decision after conducting a thorough review of the annual revenue requirement and tariff petitions filed by the three state power distribution companies (discoms) in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer. The discoms had proposed various rationalization measures in their petitions, which were taken into consideration by the commission.
As a result of the commission's decision, several benefits have been extended to consumers. Notably, the minimum electricity charges for medium industrial power category consumers will be reduced from Rs 6.30 per unit to Rs 6 per unit. Additionally, street-lighting will be exempt from day-time tariff, and fixed charges for electric vehicle charging stations will be removed to promote electric mobility.
