Education Committee to Examine Competitive Examinations and Evaluation Practices
The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports will hold crucial meetings this week to investigate concerns related to competitive examinations, CBSE evaluation practices, and language policy implementation in schools.
According to the schedule, the panel will meet on June 1 to discuss the use of pen-and-paper examinations versus Computer-Based Tests (CBT), as well as issues related to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The discussions come amid ongoing debates over examination transparency, technical glitches in online tests, and concerns raised by students over the conduct of national-level entrance exams.
On June 2, the committee will review the use of On-Screen Marking (OSM) in CBSE Class 12 board examinations and examine issues faced by students as a result of the evaluation system.
