OnePlus to Cease Operations in Certain Global Markets
OnePlus, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is reportedly shutting down operations in select global markets, including vast portions of Europe, according to a report by 9to5Google. The shutdown is expected to start from April 2026, although the exact timeline is not confirmed.
China business will reportedly remain unaffected, while India will focus on producing budget and mid-range products. US, UK, and EU customers may face disruptions. This move is part of OnePlus's strategy to shift focus on its entry- and mid-range market in India.
OnePlus has informed selected staff of this decision in advance, with some already receiving severance packages. The company had scaled back its European operations in 2020, following the exit of co-founder Carl Pei.
