Nvidia and Microsoft to Debut Windows PCs with AI Chips Next Week
In a move aimed at increasing battery life in Windows PCs, Nvidia and Microsoft are set to unveil the first Windows computers powered by Nvidia's AI chips as the main processor, according to a report by Axios on Saturday.
The new PCs are expected to be released from Microsoft's Surface brand as well as other computer manufacturers, including Dell. This development comes as Microsoft continues to shift its focus towards more energy-efficient chips, a move that has yet to drive a significant increase in sales. In contrast, Microsoft's primary rival Apple has been successful in this area, unveiling updated MacBooks featuring its latest M5-series chips in March.
Microsoft and Nvidia are scheduled to unveil the new PCs at two major tech events: the Computex trade show in Taiwan and Microsoft's Build developer conference in San Francisco.
