Namma Yatri Establishes Cab Pickup Zone at Bengaluru Airport, Collaborations with Rapido Underway
Namma Yatri Opens Cab Pickup Zone at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru
Namma Yatri, a cab aggregator, has opened a dedicated pickup zone at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, marking a significant development in the city's transportation sector. The zone, which was inaugurated on April 27, features booking counters at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Rapido, another prominent cab aggregator, is also in talks with Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) to set up similar counters at the airport. The move is expected to increase cab availability and alleviate the shortage of rides that passengers have been facing at the airport.

In December 2025, BIAL implemented new pick-up rules that require only aggregators authorized by the airport operator to pick up passengers from the kerbside. Other operators are required to wait in designated parking areas at both terminals. This move has sparked concerns among several cab operators, including Rapido and Namma Yatri, which had raised issues over the new system, stating that it could lead to higher fares, impact passenger convenience, and favour a limited number of operators.
Authorized Taxi Operators
Other authorized taxi operators at the airport include KSTDC, Mega, Uber, Uber Black, Ola, Quick Ride, OHM Electric Cabs, and WTI. These operators are allowed to pick up passengers directly from the kerbside, but they pay annual charges for access to the parking bays, contributing to higher fares.

The entry of Namma Yatri is expected to increase competition and potentially reduce fares. However, it remains to be seen how the new pickup zone will affect the existing operators and passengers.
Future Developments
The airport line of Namma Metro (KR Pura-Kempegowda International Airport) is expected to be operational by December 2027. Meanwhile, BMTC and KSRTC operate Vayu Vajra and Flybus services, respectively, to cater to the transportation needs of passengers.
