Gujarat Government Signs 2,792 MoUs Worth Rs 3,53,306 Crore at Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference

The Gujarat government has achieved a significant milestone by signing 2,792 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 3,53,306 crore during the two-day Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for South Gujarat. The conference, which concluded recently, is expected to generate 2.82 lakh direct job opportunities in the coming years.

State Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi revealed the details of the conference during the valedictory function. He stated that the event has achieved massive milestones, with 2,792 MoUs signed and investments worth Rs 3,53,306 crore pledged. The projects are expected to create large-scale job opportunities over the next three years, providing direct employment to 2.82 lakh youths in the region.

The Vibrant Gujarat initiative has been taken beyond the state capital Gandhinagar to different regions to benefit more people. This regional conference in Surat was the third of its kind, following similar events in Mehsana for the North Gujarat region and Rajkot for the Saurashtra and Kutch region.

The focus of these regional conferences is to ensure that small businessmen get direct access to global opportunities. Participants from across regions had a chance to interact with international companies, including representatives from 20 countries such as Rwanda, the US, Canada, Singapore, and Japan.

Sectoral Focus and Job Creation

The government is actively working to promote industries that can generate jobs, especially for women, in tribal areas. The sectoral focus includes taking non-polluting industries to tribal districts like Dang and Tapi, as well as parts of Navsari, Valsad, Bharuch, and Surat.

The government is also making arrangements to ensure safe and easy travel for women workers. Special attention is being given to the garment sector, with major garmenting industry leaders working to provide direct employment to more than 25,000 women in tribal districts over the next two years.

The government remains committed to supporting businesses and ensuring that investments translate into real growth on the ground. Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi emphasized the importance of working closely with industry and making government processes faster and more responsive.
