Modi Praises Sikkim's Environmental Consciousness at 50th Statehood Anniversary Celebration

The Prime Minister was in Sikkim to attend the closing ceremony marking 50 years of the state's statehood and launch development projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore.
During his visit, PM Modi was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of Sikkim's roads, noting that there was no filth anywhere. He also praised the state's air quality, stating that the cleanliness of the roads and air reflected the people of Sikkim's commitment to conservation of nature. The Prime Minister highlighted the unique beauty of Sikkim, referring to it as "the heaven of the East and the garden of orchids."
The Prime Minister's visit to the Orchidarium was a notable highlight, with him spending a significant amount of time there. He expressed his admiration for the state's orchids, stating that they were a must-see for nature-loving tourists. According to the Prime Minister, witnessing the orchids in Sikkim was an unparalleled experience that would leave a lasting impression on visitors.
