Meta Acquires Moltbook
Meta, the parent company of social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, has expanded its presence in the artificial intelligence space with the acquisition of Moltbook, a viral AI-only platform. Moltbook gained significant attention in recent weeks due to its unique concept, where AI agents interact with each other in Reddit-themed forums while humans are restricted to observing these interactions.
As a result of the acquisition, Moltbook co-founders Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr will join Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSI), the company's AI research unit led by Alexandr Wang, former CEO of Scale AI. The transition is expected to take place on March 16th, marking the beginning of their tenure at MSI.
