Markets End Week with Marginal Gains Amid Volatility
The Indian stock market witnessed a mixed week, with the combined market valuation of six of the top-10 most valued firms surging by ₹74,111.57 crore. The BSE benchmark climbed 177.36 points, or 0.23 per cent, last week.
The market's performance was driven by persistent rupee weakness, mixed global cues, sectoral rotation, and continued uncertainty around inflation and interest rates. Despite the volatility, the markets ended the week with marginal gains.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and ICICI Bank also saw significant gains, with their valuations jumping by ₹19,338.68 crore and ₹14,515.93 crore respectively.

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India, and HDFC Bank saw declines in their market valuations. Bharti Airtel's valuation dropped by ₹20,229.67 crore, while Hindustan Unilever's mcap eroded by ₹16,212.18 crore.

The market capitalisation (mcap) of the top-10 most valued firms saw significant changes last week. Reliance Industries retained its title as the most valued firm, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever, and LIC.
