Mallcom India Invests Over Rs 100 Crore in New Manufacturing Facility
Kolkata-based PPE manufacturer Mallcom India Ltd has made a significant investment in expanding its domestic production capabilities. The company has invested over Rs 100 crore in a new manufacturing facility at Sanand in Gujarat, as part of its strategy to strengthen localisation and reduce dependence on imports.
The Sanand plant, Mallcom's 17th manufacturing unit, currently employs more than 200 people. The facility is expected to generate over 300 jobs by next year. The Sanand plant manufactures a range of products, including NBR and PU gloves, safety helmets, and bump caps. Mallcom has recently added a new NBR glove dipping line with online printing and stripping facilities and has started local production of Protech PU gloves, which were previously imported.
Mallcom has also established "India's first domestic tariff area (DTA) unit" for Protech PU gloves at the Sanand facility. This move is aimed at reducing import dependence in a segment largely dominated by overseas suppliers. The Sanand facility represents a significant milestone in Mallcom's expansion journey and reinforces its commitment to building globally competitive manufacturing capabilities in India.
