Lupin's Subsidiary to Acquire Minority Stake in Multicare Pharmaceuticals Philippines, Inc.
Lupin shares will remain in focus on April 2 after the company announced that its subsidiary, Nanomi B.V., Netherlands, has entered into definitive agreements to acquire a minority stake in Multicare Pharmaceuticals Philippines, Inc. (MPPI). In an exchange filing, the company stated that Nanomi will acquire 11,794,497 shares, representing a 43.38% stake, in MPPI from existing shareholders. The acquisition is valued at up to $39.6 million and is expected to be completed by the end of May 2026, subject to closing conditions.
In a separate development, Lupin informed that Nanomi has completed the full acquisition of VISUfarma B.V., Netherlands. Consequently, VISUfarma and its subsidiaries have become wholly owned subsidiaries of Nanomi effective April 1, 2026. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Lupin's expansion strategy.
Lupin has been making strides in strengthening its pipeline, with the company receiving tentative approvals from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for Sugammadex Injection and Pitolisant Tablets last month. The Pitolisant tablets will be manufactured at the company's Nagpur facility. This development is expected to have a positive impact on the company's future growth prospects.
