The Indian government has reiterated that there is no shortage of cooking gas, petrol, or diesel despite ongoing tensions in West Asia. However, several businesses in the hospitality sector have reported intermittent commercial LPG supply, affecting operations and denting business.
LPG Refill Bookings Fall to 77 Lakh

According to a PTI report, LPG refill bookings have declined to around 77 lakh, down from 88.8 lakh earlier, suggesting that panic buying has begun to ease. The government has appealed to citizens to avoid panic purchases, emphasizing that adequate stocks of petrol and diesel are available nationwide.
Government Initiatives to Maintain Supply
To strengthen availability, commercial LPG cylinders have been made available to state governments for priority distribution and are currently accessible across 30 states and union territories. The government has also amended the LPG Control Order, making it mandatory for consumers with piped natural gas (PNG) connections to surrender their domestic LPG connections.

To prevent hoarding and black marketing of petrol, diesel, and LPG, authorities have intensified surveillance, carrying out raids in states such as Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, and conducting surprise inspections at LPG distributorships.
