KPMG India Appoints Utpal Oza as Senior Advisor
KPMG India has strengthened its deals advisory team by bringing in veteran dealmaker and former head of investment banking at Nomura India, Utpal Oza, as a senior advisor. According to multiple industry sources, Oza has joined the firm and an internal announcement to this effect has been made.
As a senior advisor, Oza will provide strategic inputs and contribute to various verticals, including corporate finance (M&A and fund raising), transaction services (due diligence), integration advisory, and infra and debt restructuring advisory. This appointment is expected to bolster KPMG India's capabilities in these areas.
Oza brings with him nearly 3 decades of experience as a dealmaker. He was the founding member of Nomura when the Japanese firm set up operations in India in 2006. Oza's tenure at Nomura came to an end in June 2023, when Amit Thawani took over as head of investment banking. Interestingly, Oza has previously worked with KPMG India in the corporate finance team, prior to his stint at Nomura.
