IPO Lock-in Expiry for BCCL, Fractal, and 86 Other Companies to Release ₹6.6 Lakh Crore Worth of Shares in 3 Months
Secondary Market Volatility Expected due to Upcoming Share Releases
The secondary market is experiencing increased volatility due to the expected release of shares from 88 recently listed companies. According to a report by Nuvama Wealth Management, the lock-in periods for pre-listing investors in these companies will end between March 11 and June 29, 2026, potentially freeing shares valued at $72 billion (approximately ₹6.6 lakh crore).
The lock-in restrictions will be lifted on various dates, with 66% of IPOs launched in 2026 now trading under their initial offering price. This cautious investor sentiment is a reflection of the wider market unpredictability.
